Breast Cancer Sucks

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March, 2008. Mastectomy on May 29, 2008.  Very lucky, they say, if you got to get "it", you got the best kind.  Okay, that's weird, because #1-Getting Cancer of any kind is not a good thing and #2- being mutilated is just what I love having done to me. NOT!!  Well, I guess if you consider that I did not have to have chemo or radiation, I am "lucky".  In my opinion, "lucky" would have been not getting "it" at all.  I happened to have liked my boobs the way they were.  Here I am 2 1/2 years later and still going through reconstruction on the Lucky Boob.

Now here's the Lucky part:  I have a wonderful medical team; I have a wonderful and supportive significant other-Peter; I have a wonderful little sister-Brenda-who is my fiercest defender; I have 2 wonderful sons and their families and I have wonderful and supportive friends.  To Them I'd like to say I Love You, Thank You and I hope 2011 will be the best year ever.  Love, Roxanne
P.S.  I'm also the lucky to be owned by the Q!  He wishes everyone a Merry Winter Holiday and a Happy New Year.

Egg Laying Machines

A view of some of the chickens and Ms. Abigail.  Priscilla says they are laying crazy.  She actually got 10 eggs in one day.  WOW!  I've read that this is not unusual in the winter time, especially if using a heat lamp on them.  Brenda you need to make an egg stop!!!

Another Cold day in Naples

Well, I guess it is cold all over the east coast, it might as well be cold in Florida.  Naples is beautiful even on a cold day, however.  We are spending the day enjoying the movie Lonesome Dove and using our Nooks.  I "Nooked" Peter for Christmas and he loves it.

This is a pic from last winter in Naples.  Wish it was warm enough to be fly fishing on this visit.

Winter Holiday-2010-Naples Florida

Okay, it is pretty cold down here.  Headed to the First Watch for Brunch.  Will need to bundle up.  I have one cold weather outfit down here, so you will see that outfit often!
